The workshop will show how to play Brazilian percussion instruments, including the drums, shakers and bells. Attendees will have the chance to participate in a traditional Brazilian Batucada, a sub-style of samba drumming. No musical experience or background is required and is open to all ages. Luciano Antonio's work as a guitarist and singer showcases a contemporary jazz interpretation of traditional Brazilian folk music. A native of rural southern Brazil, he is a graduate of University of Missouri-Kansas City and performs throughout the Chicago area and across the country.
